Cultured Fibroblasts
Cultured fibroblasts are cells derived from human connective tissue which are used in laboratory and medical research due to their ability to survive, divide and proliferate. They are often used as a model to study how cells respond to drugs, toxins and genetic mutations and are commonly used in the development of cell-replacement therapies. Cultured fibroblasts also play an important role in the study of cellular and tissue architecture, as they are able to form a variety of structures in vitro. Furthermore, they are used to study the physiological processes of wound healing, and in the fields of biochemistry and biotechnology.
