Cryobiology

Cryobiology is the study of the effects of low temperatures on organisms. It is a rapidly emerging field of research, and its applications are many, ranging from medical to environmental. Cryobiology has helped to advance our understanding of how cold temperatures can be used to preserve cells, tissues, and organs, with potential implications for cryogenic storage, tissue engineering, and transplantation. Cryobiology also has implications for understanding how cold temperatures affect biological processes such as protein folding, enzyme activity, and cell division. Finally, cryobiology is a key component of understanding how the environment can shape evolution and how organisms adapt to their changing climate.
