Cell Nucleus
The cell nucleus is a crucial organelle found within eukaryotic cells. It contains the genetic material and is responsible for maintaining the cell's integrity and identity. It is encapsulated by a double-membrane nuclear envelope and is the control centre of the cell, containing the cell’s genetic material and regulating cellular activities, such as cell division, metabolism, and gene expression. The nucleus is essential for the survival of the cell and is necessary for the inheritance of genetic material from parent to offspring. It is also important for regulating a variety of cell activities, from metabolism to gene expression. The nucleus is thus integral to understanding many biological processes and diseases, such as cancer and genetic diseases.
