Skull

The skull is a complex set of bones that together form a bony framework for the head, neck and face of humans, other mammals and some other animals. It is made up of several different bones that together provide protection for the brain, support for the facial muscles and house the sense organs (ears, eyes, nose and mouth). The skull is essential for both structural and functional aspects of the human body, providing protection to the brain, housing the senses and enabling basic facial expressions and communication. As such, it is an important part of human anatomy, and its anatomy and function is studied in medical science to enable medical professionals to diagnose, treat and manage medical conditions affecting the skull.
