Muscle Hypertrophy
Muscle hypertrophy is the enlargement of muscle cells due to an increase in the size of their component proteins. It is an important part of muscle development, allowing for increased strength and endurance. In addition, it improves overall health and can even aid in the prevention of certain diseases. Hypertrophy is achieved through physical activity such as weight training, which increases the tension of muscle fibers and the rate of protein synthesis. This is known as the muscle overload principle, which states that increased tension or workloads are required to stimulate muscle growth. Hypertrophy can also occur in response to certain hormones, such as testosterone and human growth hormone. It is an essential element to any exercise program, as it helps to build strength, stamina, and overall muscle health.
