Arthroplasty

Arthroplasty is a surgical procedure where a joint or joint surface is replaced, realigned or repaired. The most common arthroplasty is knee or hip arthroplasty. This surgery can be used to treat the pain, inflammation and disability caused by conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fractures, and other joint related problems. It can also be used for joint reconstruction or for joint replacement. Arthroplasty can improve function and reduce pain, allowing the patient to enjoy a more active lifestyle. This procedure can be done in a variety of ways, such as open or minimally invasive surgery, depending on the patient and the condition. The benefits of this surgery can include an improved range of motion and stability, improved quality of life, and a decreased need for pain medications.
