Leukopenia
Leukopenia is a medical condition characterized by an abnormally low count of white blood cells in the body. It is usually a sign of an underlying medical condition, such as bone marrow diseases, infections, or certain medications. Leukopenia can place an individual at an increased risk for developing serious infections. It is important to consult a doctor immediately if any signs or symptoms of leukopenia are noticed. Treatment of the underlying condition can often lead to the correction of leukopenia.
