Angina Pectoris

Angina pectoris is a condition characterised by a feeling of tightness, heaviness or pressure in the chest. It is caused by a temporary lack of oxygen in the heart muscle, usually due to narrowed or blocked heart arteries. It is a warning sign of potential heart attack and can be a symptom of other cardiovascular diseases. Treatment may include lifestyle modifications like quitting smoking and avoiding certain foods, as well as medication. People with angina should seek medical attention to reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
