Anemia Causes
Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells to adequately transport oxygen throughout the body. It is one of the most common blood disorders in the world and affects people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. Anemia can be caused by a number of factors including nutritional deficiencies, chronic illnesses, certain medications, and inherited conditions. Symptoms of anemia can range from mild to severe and include fatigue, paleness, shortness of breath, dizziness, irregular heartbeats, and chest pain. Early diagnosis and treatment of anemia is important in order to prevent more serious complications such as heart disease, infections, and organ failure. Treatment of anemia typically involves taking iron or other supplements, eating a well-balanced diet, and in some cases, undergoing medical procedures such as blood transfusions.
