Nephrotic Syndrome
Nephrotic Syndrome is a collection of symptoms caused by a kidney disorder. It is most often characterized by the excessive excretion of protein in the urine (proteinuria) caused by a decrease in the glomerular filtration rate of the kidneys. This decrease in filtering results in swelling (edema) due to the Too much fluid in the body, as well as low cholesterol levels, increased blood pressure and increased risk of infection. Nephrotic Syndrome can have serious and sometimes life-threatening complications, including kidney failure. Treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome can include medications, lifestyle modifications, and in some cases, kidney transplant. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to prevent long-term health complications.
