Clustered Protocadherin
Clustered Protocadherin (CPC) is a group of proteins that modulate cell-cell adhesion in animals. CPCs interact through multimeric complexes and play a crucial role in development, differentiation, and synaptic plasticity of neurons. They also have a role in the formation of tissue-specific cell adhesion and morphogenesis. CPCs are associated with multiple diseases, and their dysregulation contributes to the progression of cancer. Thus, they are a potential target for therapeutic treatment. Furthermore, CPCs are used to increase the probability of successful transplantation in organ and tissue regeneration. With the understanding and study of CPC, new treatments for diseases and successful regenerative strategies can be developed.
