Biopharmaceutics

Biopharmaceutics is a branch of pharmaceutical sciences that focuses on the study of the behavior of drugs in the body. It is concerned with the relationship between the drug's physical and chemical properties and its absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion, as well as the impacts of these processes on the clinical efficacy and safety of a drug. Biopharmaceutics plays a vital role in the development of new and improved pharmaceutical products. It is used to assess the stability, solubility, and safety of the drug, and to determine the drug's most effective and safe dosage form and route of administration. Additionally, biopharmaceutics is used to optimize the pharmacokinetics of a drug, including the absorption, distribution and elimination to maximize the therapeutic effect, and to determine the effect of drug-drug and drug-food interactions, as well as the influence of a patient's individual characteristics on drug disposition.
