Bioorganic Chemistry

Bioorganic Chemistry is an interdisciplinary field that combines the study of biochemistry and organic chemistry. This field of chemistry is important for understanding the structures, functions, and activities of molecules related to life on earth. It is a critical tool for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other biotechnological products. In addition, bioorganic chemistry can be used to understand and design enzyme catalysts, probe protein structure, and identify and modify enzyme sites for metabolic engineering. Bioorganic chemistry is thus fundamental to many areas of modern life science.
