Wild Fisheries

Wild fisheries refer to the capture of wild fish species or a population of species which occur naturally in the environment. Wild fisheries play a significant role in providing a sustainable source of food and livelihoods for millions of people and support a thriving commercial industry. Wild fisheries are also important to healthy marine ecosystems, providing essential nutrients and improving water quality. They are also a major source of recreation and education opportunities for people. The careful management of wild fisheries can ensure that resources remain abundant for generations to come.
