Tilapia Aquaculture

Tilapia aquaculture is a type of sustainable fish production that is used to provide food security and income generation in many parts of the world. Tilapia is considered a "superfish" due to its high protein content, low fat content, short growth cycle and resistance to disease. Tilapia aquaculture is environmentally friendly, with minimal pollution and impact on its surroundings. Furthermore, this type of aquaculture is relatively easy to start, with minimal initial capital, making it a highly accessible form of aquaculture. Tilapia can be farmed in both small and large scale operations, allowing users to meet their food security and income generation needs. This makes tilapia aquaculture an important practice for many communities.
