Immunology
Immunology is the branch of medicine dealing with the body’s immune system and its response to foreign substances. It studies the biochemical and physiological processes that the body uses to protect itself against disease, and it is a vital part of all medical fields. Immunology teaches us how to protect ourselves from bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, as well as how to use specialized treatments to fight off various illnesses. It also helps us understand the immune system’s role in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as allergies and asthma. By studying immunology, doctors and researchers can develop vaccines to protect us from infectious diseases, develop ways to improve the immune system’s function, and find treatments for a range of ailments.
