Home Aquaculture
Home Aquaculture is an environmental friendly and cost effective practice in which aquatic species including fish, shellfish, and other forms of aquatic food are raised from juvenile stage to maturity in aquatic systems outside of natural habitats. Home Aquaculture provides an alternate source of food and income for people living in coastal and remote areas of the world. Additionally, Home Aquaculture systems help improve both the quality and quantity of the aquatic resources available for fishing in the wild. The practice helps to conserve wild populations of aquatic species, improve water quality in natural habitats and reduce overfishing.
