Freshwater Aquaculture
Freshwater aquaculture is a type of aquaculture, or fish farming, that is conducted in a controlled environment in fresh-water systems such as lakes, ponds, rivers, or streams. Freshwater aquaculture is an important source of food and employment for many people around the world, providing a sustainable and renewable source of protein. By using modern efficient techniques, freshwater aquaculture also helps in preserving wild stocks of fish, as well as promoting conservation of wild aquatic species. In addition, it helps in maintaining the health of ecosystems and protecting biodiversity. Freshwater aquaculture also provides a source of income for local communities and represents an important source of livelihood for many people. It has even been used to revitalize local economies and create jobs.
