Epidemiology

Epidemiology is the branch of medical science that deals with the study and analysis of the causes, distribution and control of diseases in human populations. It is a crucial field of research in public health and healthcare, as it is used to identify risk factors for diseases and to develop diagnoses, prevention and treatment strategies. Epidemiological studies can also provide important insight into the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and inform public health policy. Although most epidemiological research is conducted in clinical settings, its results can also be applied to environmental and occupational health, making epidemiology a powerful tool to prevent and control disease.
