Isoniazid

Isoniazid (INH) is a first-line anti-tuberculosis medication used to treat active tuberculosis infection. It has been used for over 70 years, and is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs for tuberculosis. As INH is bactericidal, it has been shown to reduce mortality from tuberculosis and significantly improve the prognosis of those infected. In addition, it can be used to prevent latent tuberculosis from becoming active. INH is generally well-tolerated, making it a safe and effective treatment for tuberculosis.
