Antimicrobials
Antimicrobials are substances that have the ability to kill or inhibit the growth of microbes such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. These substances are used in a variety of different areas and in a variety of ways; they are used to prevent and treat infections, to preserve food and medication, and even to keep the environment clean. Antimicrobial agents such as antibiotics, antifungals, and antivirals are commonly used to treat a wide range of infections, and their use has saved millions of lives. They are also used in the food industry to prevent contamination and increase the shelf life of food, as well as in the medical and veterinary fields to prevent infection. Antimicrobials are essential to our public health and overall well-being, and it is essential that we use them responsibly to ensure that we are not contributing to the development of antimicrobial resistance.
