Obstetrics Pregnancy

Obstetrics is the medical specialty that focuses on providing care for pregnant women, their fetus, and their newborn. Obstetricians are skilled at diagnosing and treating common and unusual conditions that affect a pregnant woman, from pre-conception to delivery. They manage the antenatal, labor and postnatal care of the mother, and provide antenatal testing services such as ultrasound, blood tests and measuring fetal size to monitor the health of both mother and baby. Obstetricians also provide expertise in managing high risk pregnancies and emergency obstetric care. Their role is essential in providing medical and psychological support during a pregnancy, ensuring that mother and baby have the best possible start in life.
