Muscle Relaxants
Muscle relaxants are medications used mainly to treat muscle spasms and pain. They work by blocking nerve signals, causing muscles to relax, relieving pain and discomfort. Muscle relaxants are prescribed for a variety of conditions and can be used to reduce stiffness or spasms in the muscles, improve range of motion, and reduce pain. They can be used to treat muscle spasms caused by medical conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, or spinal cord injuries. They are also often used to treat muscle pain and spasms caused by injuries, such as sprains and strains, or from overuse. Muscle relaxants can be taken orally, applied topically, or injected into the affected area, depending on the condition being treated and the type of muscle relaxant prescribed. They are an important part of many physical therapy programs and can also help improve the ability to perform activities of daily living.
