Intensive Care
Intensive Care is a medical specialty dedicated to providing intensive medical care and monitoring to critically ill or injured patients. It is staffed by highly trained doctors, nurses, and technicians trained to provide life-sustaining treatments and interventions to patients in need of the highest level of care. Intensive care helps patients recover from life-threatening and complex medical conditions, providing critical care in the early stages of recovery to ensure a favourable prognosis. Intensive care is used in cases of trauma, major surgery, organ failure, respiratory failure, stroke, and other debilitating conditions. The provision of intensive care can significantly improve patients’ prognoses, reduce hospital stays, and improve quality of life.
