Erythromycin

Erythromycin is an antibiotic drug used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by killing or slowing the growth of bacteria. It is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, meningitis, and certain sexually transmitted diseases. It is also effective against Helicobacter pylori, the bacteria linked to stomach ulcers. Erythromycin is considered a safe and effective antibiotic and is generally well tolerated by most people. It is often prescribed as an alternative for people who are allergic to penicillin.
