Airway Management
Airway management is the process of maintaining and restoring breathing for patients with respiratory difficulties. It’s a critical intervention for many medical conditions and can be life-saving. Airway management includes assessing the patient’s airway, stabilizing and managing the airway including intubation, extubation and providing oxygen when necessary. Treatments can range from simple face-mask ventilation to more complex mechanical ventilation, depending on the severity of the patient's condition. It is important for medical professionals to have a thorough understanding of airway management in order to properly diagnose, assess and treat patients.
