Secondary Amines
Secondary amines are organic compounds composed of an amine group (–NH2) attached to two hydrocarbon groups. They are used in a wide range of industrial applications such as in the synthesis of medicines, dyes, and other chemicals. Secondary amines have greater reactivity than primary amines and can be used as catalysts in a variety of reactions. They are also used to modify the physical and chemical properties of materials, and as intermediates in the production of surfactants, pharmaceuticals, and other products. Additionally, secondary amines can be used in the synthesis of fluorescent molecules for bio-imaging applications. Thus, secondary amines are invaluable reagents that are used extensively in the manufacturing of a variety of products for many different applications.
