Proline

Proline is an ?-amino acid that is essential for protein synthesis and plays a major role in many biological processes. It is a hydrophobic amino acid, meaning it is insoluble in water and can be found in the inner parts of proteins. Proline contributes to the stabilizing properties of proteins and is known to be particularly important for collagen proteins found in skin, bone, and muscle. Proline has also been found to be beneficial in wound healing, as studies have shown that proline supplementation helps reduce inflammation and improve skin healing. It is also believed to play a role in neuroprotection and may be helpful in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
