Oxamic Acid
Oxamic acid (2-oxopropanoic acid) is a naturally occurring organic compound belonging to the family of alpha-keto acids. It is an intermediate in the glycolysis pathway and may also be a product of amino acid metabolism. It has significant uses in medicine, biochemistry, and other disciplines. Due to its ability to react with a wide range of compounds, it is a common tool for developing new methods of synthesis. Additionally, it has been used to synthesize new drugs, investigate the structure-function relationships of drugs, and investigate enzyme activities in vitro.
