Carbocysteine

Carbocysteine is an amino acid derivative that functions as a mucolytic agent, meaning it helps to reduce the viscosity of mucus secretions within the respiratory tract. This can help reduce symptoms of respiratory conditions such as chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis, as well as other respiratory illnesses. Additionally, carbocysteine can help to improve airway clearance and reduce the risk of a secondary infection. As carbocysteine is an easily absorbed form of the amino acid cysteine, it is often used in nutritional supplements, as well as in medical treatments.
