Amino Acid Substitution
Amino acid substitution is a process whereby one amino acid is substituted for another in a protein sequence. This process can have significant impacts on the structure and function of proteins, as each amino acid type has distinct physical properties and interactions with other molecules. Amino acid substitution can be either beneficial or harmful to an organism, and can be used in research studies to look at the effects of specific amino acids on proteins. In addition, amino acid substitution can be used in the development of new and improved proteins or enzymes, such as antibiotics and enzymes used in the food industry.
