Skin Allergies

Skin allergies are an abnormal reaction to substances, such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander, that come into contact with the skin. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include redness, itching, rash, and hives. In some cases, an allergic reaction can be severe and require medical treatment. Skin allergies can be managed by avoiding the offending substance and utilizing therapies such as antihistamines, steroid creams, or immunotherapy injections. Identifying and avoiding allergens can help reduce the risk of developing skin allergies and improve quality of life for those who suffer from this condition.
