Pollen Allergy

Pollen allergy is a condition in which the body has an exaggerated immune response to pollen. It is a type of allergic rhinitis, usually occurring during specific times of the year when pollen count is at its highest. Pollen allergy can cause sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy eyes, nose and throat, and can lead to other complications such as asthma, eczema, sinus infections and reduced quality of life. Treatment of pollen allergy involves avoiding areas with high pollen counts, medications such as antihistamines, and immunotherapy.
