Peanut Hypersensitivity

Peanut hypersensitivity is a form of food allergy to peanuts, which occurs when the body produces an exaggerated response to the ingestion of peanuts or products containing them. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, including hives, rashes, itching and swelling of the face, throat and mouth, nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing. Treatment of peanut hypersensitivity should involve strict avoidance of peanuts and any peanut-containing products, and immediate medical attention should be sought in case of an allergic reaction. Peanut hypersensitivity should be taken seriously, as severe symptoms can be life-threatening.
