Food Allergies
Food allergies are a medical condition where an individual has an immune system reaction to food that is otherwise harmless. Foods that commonly cause allergies include peanuts, shellfish, dairy, eggs, and tree nuts. These reactions can range from minor skin rashes to life-threatening anaphylactic shock. Recognizing and preventing food allergies is important as it can help individuals avoid serious health complications. Treatment for food allergies involves avoiding the offending food and having an emergency plan in case of accidental exposure. A doctor or allergist can also provide additional medical advice and support.
