Bacterial Infections
Bacterial infections occur when a person is exposed to a strain of harmful bacteria. These infections range from mild to severe and can cause a variety of health problems, depending on the type of bacteria and the person's immune system. Common bacterial infections include strep throat, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and food poisoning. Treatment typically involves antibiotics to kill the bacteria, which can either be taken as a pill, topical ointment, or intravenous solution. In some cases, preventative measures such as handwashing, avoiding contaminated food and water, and getting vaccinated can help reduce the risk of bacterial infections.
