Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is a type of chronic skin condition that causes red and itchy patches of skin. It is a form of eczema, and is most common in infants and children, although adults can also suffer from it. It is commonly found in areas such as the elbows, knees, face and scalp. Symptoms can be managed with good skin care, and by avoiding known triggers such as certain fabrics and detergents. Some people may need to use topical steroids or other medications to reduce their symptoms. With proper care, the symptoms of atopic dermatitis can be reduced and kept under control.
