Allergic Disease
Allergic disease is a type of immune response in which the body reacts to allergens (substances that can cause an allergic reaction) with an excessive or abnormal immune reaction. Allergic disease can cause a range of symptoms, from uncomfortable to life-threatening, such as sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, asthma attacks, chest tightness, hives and eczema. There are several treatments available for allergic disease, depending on the type and severity, such as antihistamines, steroid medications, and allergen desensitization (immunotherapy). Early diagnosis and treatment of allergic disease can improve quality of life and help prevent serious complications.
