Allergic Asthma
Allergic asthma is a type of chronic respiratory disorder caused by allergic reactions to allergens, typically in the air, such as pollen, dust, pet dander, and mold. Allergic asthma causes the airways to become inflamed and narrow, resulting in ongoing symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and difficulty breathing. With proper management and treatment, those living with allergic asthma can still lead normal and active lives. Treatment options include avoiding allergens, using medications to reduce inflammation, using preventative medications, and using immunotherapy (desensitization therapy). By avoiding allergens, reducing inflammation, and using preventative medications, allergic asthma can be managed and treated to ensure a normal, healthy life.
