Acne Vulgaris

Acne Vulgaris is an inflammatory skin condition caused by an imbalance between sebum production and skin cell turnover. It is the most common skin disorder in the world and affects people of all ages, though it is most frequent during puberty. Acne Vulgaris is characterized by whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, cysts and nodules, which can cause physical and psychological distress. Treatments include the use of topical and oral antibiotics, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, among other medications. Proper hygiene and lifestyle changes, such as controlling stress and eating a balanced diet, can also help control the severity of Acne Vulgaris.
