Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that affects the body's joints and bones. It is one of the most common types of arthritis and usually occurs in older adults. The disease can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness around the affected joint, eventually leading to loss of cartilage and bone. Osteoarthritis can affect any joint in the body, including the hips, knees, hands, and spine. Treatment for osteoarthritis typically includes lifestyle changes such as exercise, and medications to reduce inflammation and pain. Surgery may also be necessary to replace the affected joint. Osteoarthritis is a disabling condition that can significantly impact quality of life and can be managed through early diagnosis and effective treatment.
