Disaster Management
Disaster management is the systematic process of preparing for and responding to natural disasters, technological disasters, and other human-caused emergencies. The goal of disaster management is to reduce the potential impact of hazards on individuals, communities, and ecosystems. Disaster management is achieved through the implementation of risk reduction strategies, such as early warning systems and evacuation plans; emergency preparedness and response, such as search and rescue operations; and post-disaster recovery, such as restoring basic services, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Through the implementation of effective disaster management strategies, communities can reduce the impacts of disasters and increase their resilience to future hazards.
