Asthma and COPD

Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) are two conditions that affect the respiratory system. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease that causes wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing. COPD is a progressive lung disease characterized by difficulty breathing and chronic bronchitis. Both of these conditions require ongoing medical management and can be life-threatening in severe cases. By recognizing the early signs and symptoms and utilizing proper treatments, individuals can manage their asthma or COPD effectively. The use of preventative measures, such as vaccinations and staying away from triggers, is also important in controlling asthma and COPD. These conditions can greatly impair quality of life, but with the right management, individuals can lead healthy, active lives.
