Acute Injury
Acute injury is a type of tissue trauma that occurs over a brief period of time, usually lasting only a few days or weeks. It can be caused by blunt force trauma, such as a fall or car accident, or by penetrating wounds, such as a gunshot or knife wound. Acute injury is important because it can cause long-term damage if not addressed immediately and properly. Treatment of an acute injury typically involves reducing pain and inflammation, limiting further damage and promoting healing. Physical therapy and certain wound-care products may also be used to aid in recovery. Early diagnosis and treatment of acute injury is essential for optimal healing and rehabilitation.
