Adaptation

Adaptation is the process of change that enables organisms to better survive and reproduce in their environment. It is a central concept in biology, and aids in understanding how species evolve and interact with their surroundings. Adaptation allows organisms to respond to environmental stressors, such as changes in climate, food availability, and competition. This process of change ensures the survival of species, and helps to maintain the biodiversity of the planet. Adaptation plays an essential role in the sustainability of ecosystems, both on land and in the oceans, by helping organisms to cope with environmental changes and competing pressures.
