Influenza
Influenza is a highly contagious viral infection that affects the respiratory system in humans and other animals. It is the cause of seasonal epidemics worldwide and can cause serious illness and death in certain groups of people. People can spread the virus through coughing, sneezing and saliva. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent influenza, as it helps the body build immunity to the virus. Vaccinated people are less likely to get an infection, and even if they do, they are less likely to suffer severe complications. As such, influenza vaccination is important to protect not only the individual, but also their family and the community.
