Asthma
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing. During an asthma attack, the airways become inflamed and narrowed, making it difficult for air to move in and out of the lungs. The primary cause of asthma is thought to be environmental factors such as allergens, air pollution, and cigarette smoke. Also, genetics may play a role in some cases. The diagnosis of asthma is based on medical history, physical examination, and lung function tests. Asthma is a serious condition that can cause significant disability and even death. The aim of asthma treatment is to maintain good control of symptoms and prevent serious asthma attacks. Treatment includes medications, lifestyle modifications, and environmental modifications. Proper management of asthma is important to ensure optimal health.
