Allergies
An allergy is a medical condition in which the body's immune system reacts to certain substances, called allergens, that are usually harmless to most people. Allergens can be found in the environment, food, and even some medications. Symptoms of allergy may range from mild (such as sneezing or a rash) to serious (such as a life-threatening asthma attack). Knowing one's allergies and avoiding contact with the relevant allergens is the best way to avoid complications from allergies. Treatment options may include medications, immunotherapy, and lifestyle modifications. Allergies are a serious health issue and an important public health concern.
