Intestinal Permeability
Intestinal permeability is the process by which molecules, such as nutrients and water, pass through the walls of the intestines and into the body. It plays an important role in digestion, absorption and distribution of nutrients, and electrolyte balance. Malfunction of this process leads to a range of health problems, including gastrointestinal disorders, malnutrition, food allergies, and leaky gut syndrome. Improving intestinal permeability can improve overall health by providing the body with essential nutrients and preventing food allergies.
