Intestinal Parasites

Intestinal parasites are organisms which inhabit the digestive tracts of humans and other animals, and can cause significant health problems. These parasites can be spread through contact with contaminated food, water, soil, or other animals. Symptoms of intestinal parasite infestation may include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss, and anemia. Treatment of intestinal parasites varies depending on the type of parasite present, but may involve taking medications, making dietary changes, or undergoing surgery. Knowledge of and protection from intestinal parasites is paramount in preventing infestation and the spread of these dangerous organisms.
